As well as holding microfiche indexes of all Australian states’ birth, death and marriage indexes, and numerous cemetery indexes, more recent releases of historical resources have been on CDs or DVDs. We now have a vast collection and they have been added to our central computer server and are available for easy use on our networked computers. Most used are the “Digger” indexes of Victorian Birth, Marriage and Deaths, followed by other states’ Indexes. In addition to Australian based resources, we have also acquired many similar records for overseas countries (although mainly British), and these, too, are on our network’s server.

We are pleased to say that we now have access worldwide via our NBN internet computers including Ancestry.com which provides further resources such as the English and Welsh Census records from 1841 to 1901 and transcripts of the Scottish Census from 1841 to 1901, and FindMyPast which also has the English & Welsh Civil Registration index and Passenger Lists leaving UK 1890-1960 and other records. A further resource is our subscription to the British Newspaper Archive giving our members free access to browse British newspapers to help their family research.

See the Local History page for a list of our local history resources.
